LOS ANGELES, CA — With the Los Angeles Rams currently in a slump coming off a 22-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys at SoFi Stadium this last Sunday, cornerback and media host Jalen Ramsey discussed on the latest episode of Straight Off The Press how the team needs to be more consistent.

We held them to under a 100 yards passing, that’s almost unheard of in the NFL today. That’s elite play,” Ramsey explained to his audience regarding his team’s defensive performance against the Cowboys. “But unfortunately, we did give up 100-plus rushing yards. One of those rushes was explosive for a touchdown, and that’s stuff we have to get better at.

Ramsey said he was pleased to have accomplished his first career sack against Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush on Sunday. Besides his breakdown of the game, Ramsey was joined by his guest YG, who is not only fan of the team, but also a platinum selling recording artist from Compton. YG discussed the level of pain of being a successful artist, and all the work that goes into having success and selling records.

Successful artists are artists that have hits… it’s the hours you put in behind the scenes,” YG said. “I’m about to go to the crib after this, and I’m finna go to the studio. The man hours you put into this, depending on what type of artist you want to be or your goals in life, like the approach be different. Being an artist is one thing, but being a business man handling the business right. The other part is having the right team, that’s like the hardest part and it means the most (yet) it doesn’t get talked about.

YG made a good point regarding having the right team around you to which Ramsey agreed which showcased one of the many similarities that athletes and artist have in common. YG revealed that he is a former athlete in high school that ran track and played football and basketball, but his loyalty to the streets at the time interfered with his dedication to sports.

However, YG has a strong desire to elevate to a higher plateau as an artist and as a man from the streets to the business and fashion worlds. He’s looking to change the trajectory of West Coast rappers from the streets to being more focused on their corporate businesses like many other artists have done, such as Jay-Z and Master P.

YG also revealed his favorite album that he’s recorded.

My favorite project is ‘My Krazy Life,’ my first album of course. My favorite song is My N**** because that song changed my life,” YG said.

Ramsey and YG also emphasized the importance of embracing other cultures, including the Latino culture which is very prevalent throughout Southern California. This was a good conversation between both of them that really gave fans a solid look at what athletes and entertainers deal with on a daily basis.
