BEVERLY HILLS, CA – After years of supporting her husband and raising her children to adulthood, Rebecca Crews is finally living out her fashion dreams. However, it wasn’t just fashion that was placed on the back burner. When Rebecca first met her husband Terry Crews, she was fully entrenched in acting and music.
“When I first met my husband I was doing theater, trying to go to Broadway,” Crews said, “Then he got drafted. So I’m thinking, how do I move to New York, audition with two kids, while he’s playing ball in LA.”
It was too much, so she chose her family not realizing she would be 40 before she could live out her dreams.
However, Crews believes the timing is perfect. It’s a new beginning with a second wind. And, now she has the complete freedom to do something she has wanted to do since she was a child.
Although her efforts are just now going public, Crews has been designing clothes to meet her own needs for quite some time.
“I needed suits and tuxes for events,” Crews said. “I didn’t want to wear dresses all the time or real high heels, so I had some made, and they got so much attention so I said, ‘I should be doing this.’”
And she is. The Rebecca Crews Collection is now available exclusively at Sacks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills. The partnership with Sacks is a pop-up that will feature her luxury apparel, handbags, accessories, cosmetics, and shoes. The pop-up is for a limited time and is only available in stores until December 16th.
A second pop-up will occur in Pasadena on December 18th and 19th. Shoppers can come and try on the clothing by appointment only. Following that event, the clothing will be available online.
A portion of the proceeds from sales of Rebecca Crews’ clothing line will benefit Rise, an organization that fights for the rights of sexual violence survivors worldwide. The organization’s founder, Amanda Nguyen, says the partnership with Rebecca is no accident.
“For our state-by-state work, Terry Crews testified before Congress with me about his experience,” Nguyen said. “Terry and Rebecca are like family to me. Terry and Rebecca have really supported our cause and are truly committed.”
Even though Rebecca had to put her dreams on hold, her husband Terry says she has the full support of the family now.
“The level of selflessness…the whole family is now like, whatever she wants, she’s the Queen,” Terry said.
