ANAHEIM, CA — The musical that audiences were surprised with in an episode of Hawkeye on Disney+, “Rogers: The Musical” is the story of Steve Rogers trying to join the Army during World War II on his way to becoming Captain America. Attendees can now witness the story playing at the Hyperion Theater at Disney’s California Adventure.
The approximate 30 minute musical is sure to keep the attention from the casual to the most detailed Captain America fan. The young, scrawny Rogers wants to do anything to serve his country proudly despite the many rejects he receives. He is offered the proposition of a lifetime to not only serve his country but save the world.
The musical features five all-new songs with music by Grammy-winning composer Christopher Lennertz with the lyrics by Jordan Peterson, Christopher Lennertz and Alex Karukas. The show many recognizable songs including “Star Spangled Man” from Captain America: The First Avenger (written by Alan Menken and David Zippel).
The more defined Rogers gets a visit from Nick Fury and introduced to the other Avengers that will aid Captain America in saving the world from mayhem, which is far different than saving the world during World War II. Living in a whole new time, he sees the importance of his mission across the globe.
Disney not only did an outstanding job with presenting the musical, yet with exclusive merchandise and food items that will surely have everyone wanting more. Presented in the patriotic red, white and blue themed food that includes the amazingly tasty kettle korn, the ice cold Red, White & Blue shake, Pastrami Pretzel Dog, Blue Cherry Hard Tea, and several more incredible food items throughout California Adventure. There is also merchandise that can be purchased to celebrate the event.
“It’s our hope they have such a great experience, they walk away wanting to see more — at Disney, in their communities or elsewhere — and that they may even develop a lifelong love of theater,” Dan Fields, executive creative director at Disney Live Entertainment told the Los Angeles Times.
It’s the perfect blend of comedy, dance, classic tale of heroes, time travel, romance, and many will witness Nick Fury sing.
