LAS VEGAS — WNBA Champion and Las Vegas Aces guard Sydney Colson is no stranger to the spotlight; with a thriving and huge personality and skill set on the court, she is the glue that helps keep this team together and focused. Led by superstar and two-team defensive player of the year A’ja Wilson, “the point gawd” Chelsea Grey, along with Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young, this team is everything as advertised on and off the floor. The love and camaraderie they share are unique, and Colson is the player who ensures to be the glue and invested persona.

With so many personalities on a championship, the trials and triumphs of the 40-game season plus playoffs, it’s fantastic to see the authenticity of these players, as Colson ensures that everyone is held accountable for their actions and contributions. The intriguing factor was how they could remain tight-knit throughout their success.

We can relate it to everyday people who aren’t athletes or in the public eye,” said Colston. “When you are genuine friends with somebody or a bond between you and somebody, that doesn’t change when you start doing a task… it probably helps more when ya’ll start doing something. We really love one another (and) we really enjoy supporting one another. We enjoy one another’s success and when you get on the court its like, the perfect situation for everybody.

Colson is one of the primary catalysts for recording memorable experiences on camera or social media to bring the fans into the fun and excitement these young women share on the court. The team has an outstanding balance of knowing when to handle business and when to have fun. Whether it’s cracking jokes in the locker room, dancing down the hallways, or laughing on the sidelines, she insists no matter what, they will always maintain their personalities and not change up.

Don’t be surprised if you see Colson in a hosting and directorial role regarding a team documentary about the Las Vegas Aces at some point.

I would love to be apart of something like that (hosting and/or directing). To be honest I wish I would’ve started the footage a long time ago but I’m going to start rolling for this upcoming season for sure because it’s going to be a fantastic one.

Colston and the Aces defend their championship crown starting May 14 against the Phoenix Mercury at Michelob Ultra Arena.
