WATTS, CA – TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment) home to Grammy Award winning artist and founder Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith made sure he gave the community he came from a great holiday season for hundreds of families.
Over 10,000 people formed a line down several blocks waiting to get in to the concert venue inside the Nickerson Garden Projects, to see some of the hottest artist of our time and space. Each person entered the gates with an unwrapped toy to donate for the children in the area.
Los Angeles City Councilman Joe Buscaino of the 15th District took the stage to honor the efforts of Top Dawg and Jay Rock who appeared wearing a red Adidas jumpsuit, “thank y’all,” he said to the crowd.
Many of the artist on the TDE roster including ScHoolboy Q, Isaiah Rashad, Reason, Ab-Soul, SZA, SiR, Reason, Ab-Soul all performed to the enthusiastic crowd. A few artist including AmbJaay (“UNO”), All Money In’s Killa Twan performed his hit “I Got It.”
Swae Lee (Rae Sremmurd), Tyga, grammy award nominated Roddy Ricch, and D-Smoke (winner of Netflix “Rhythm & Flow” show) all performed.
With MixedByAli on the turntables for everyone’s performance, the biggest surprise was of the day was Chris Brown hitting the stage. The stunned crowd rocked with Brown on every song, and many didn’t want him to end his performance.
Jay Rock and Kendrick Lamar capped off the concert with a epic performance that made sure the crowd had memories that would not be forgotten.
The most imperative part of the event was day two where the children and families received gifts for the holiday season, as the kids were also treated to snow rides and playing in the snow.
