SAN DIEGO, CA — Nissan reaffirms its commitment to customers and it’s partners with the all-new 2026 Leaf, an electric vehicle that seamlessly blends quality, sustainability, and a refined premium lifestyle. This new Leaf represents a blend of style and character, transforming everyday driving into an exciting experience rather than a tedious task.

The Leaf is equipped with a groundbreaking 3-in-1 powertrain that integrates the motor, inverter, and reducer into a single, unified system, enhancing both efficiency and performance. It delivers a remarkable output of up to 214 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, featuring liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery options of 75kWh and 52kWh. The vehicle showcases an impressive range, achieving up to 303 miles on a single charge for the base model. Its streamlined, aerodynamic design guarantees optimal efficiency.

The fully loaded Platinum+ trim has an EPA-rated range of 259 miles, primarily due to the addition of 19-inch wheels and increased weight. The mid-tier SV+ splits the difference with an estimated 288 miles of driving distance.

Nissan’s new entry-level EV comes standard with driver-assist technologies that include automatic emergency braking, cruise control, a 360-degree camera system, wireless smartphone connection, and blind-spot warning and intervention.

The Platinum+ model builds upon this foundation, adding premium features such as an upgraded Bose audio system, dual 14.3-inch screens, and a hands-free power lift gate. The vehicle features LED accent lights on the front, as well as taillights with a 3D effect, and a new dimmable panoramic roof.

Nissan is prioritizing ease of charging for Leaf drivers. The 2026 Leaf can handle a charge of up to 150 kW, boosting the battery to 80% in approximately 30-35 minutes.

The 2026 S+ grade (75kWh) offers a 303-mile range, 75kWh EPA estimate, and a standard NAC Sport with Nissan-first Plug and Charge capability. This allows simple charging at over 20,000 Tesla Superchargers. The easy port location minimizes the need for multiple adapters for everyday charging. Nissan Energy Marketplace provides a one-stop shop for home energy solutions. Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play Store are also built in.

The 2025 Leaf offers an exceptional driving experience, particularly in city environments and on freeways. The acceleration and braking features provide smooth transitions, even during sudden stops or lane changes, where you often have to drive defensively; they still enhance passenger comfort. The smooth drive, easy steering, navigation features, and sensor detectors contribute to a safe and enjoyable ride. Although some canyon roads presented challenges, the Leaf managed to navigate them with a solid driving experience. It also includes Efficient, adjustable drive settings and Enhanced EV quietness.

The 2026 Leaf features Zero Gravity TailorFit seating for comfort on those long rides. The back seat is spacious enough for children and adults under 5’11”. As a 6’4 adult, the backseat was not as roomy, which posed a comfort problem.

It also comes in a variety of colors, including Seabreeze Pearl with a Black roof, Coulis Red Pearl, Ocean Blue, and black to name a few.

The 2026 Nissan Leaf combines cutting-edge technology, impressive performance, and exceptional value, making it a compelling choice for drivers seeking a stylish, sustainable, and affordable electric vehicle.
