LOS ANGELES, CA — The Batman grossed over $128 million domestically and $120 million overseas which landed the cape crusader as the second largest debut since Sony Pictures’ Spider Man: No Way Home that debuted at $260 million in it’s opening weekend.

Director Matt Reeves set out to show more the intellectual detective side of The Batman. It was dark tale yet at times the film viewed to be very emotional side of The Batman (Robert Pattinson) that hadn’t been showed in previous films such as The Dark Knight and others. The action scenes were fantastic and the villains are truly who the ones who kept your attention throughout the film. Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, who played an incredible supportive role that was a fun character. Kravitz as Catwoman truly stood out on her own in such an incredible way, every moment she was on screen you definitely looked forward to it and watching the chemistry unfold between her character and The Batman character.

Paul Dano as The Riddler, was a lot to be desired. Hollering the lines at times just was not attention grabbing enough, and more on the annoying side.

Colin Farrell as the Penguin was the right casting for this film. The brilliant part is that the Penguin was not overly saturated throughout, especially since the news was revealed that Farrell’s Penguin character would be participating in his own series. He truly embodied this character and gave it a new energy that was absolutely enticing to watch.

The new revised film continues to keep the characters fresh, while adding new dimensions to the realm of Gotham City is a refreshing take to a newer generation of the Batman series. Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne doesn’t look like a playboy or a suave billionaire, let alone a hero. He’s more a gluten for punishment in the name of justice…his form of justice. Despite the film being a tad bit longer than expected (three-hours to be exact), many are definitely looking forward to a sequel to this franchise. The dynamic of this version of The Batman showcased action-adventure, mystery, horror, and some romance, which a breathe of fresh air for all of the characters involved including the caped crusader.

There is a twist at the end where many believe there will be an appearance of The Joker in the possible sequel film.

Though Warner Bros. has not officially greenlit the next project, it’s sure to come to theaters sooner than later. DC took a big risk in the creative aspect of the character and it appeared it paid off in larger ways than just an opening weekend. Fans have seemed to embraced this film overall.
