On this week’s episode of The Outlet Forum, Chris Camello and Chaez Pearson discussed the contract extension that LeBron James can sign in August.
“You give the stars what they want…how you treat an all time great star player, on his way out, is very important,” Pearson said.
“If you lose LeBron James, what is your contingency plan?” Camello said.
The guys also discussed the NBA playoffs and how great most of the series have been. Camello mentioned the young players in each series owning the stage, with a lot of ex-Lakers doing great. Pearson says the Memphis-Minnesota series has been the one to watch.
Who are the real contenders? Pearson believes they are Milwaukee, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Golden State and Phoenix.
Camello mentioned Miami should also be thrown in there as a contender.
Camello also gave a shoutout to New Orleans Pelicans coach Willie Green, who has done a great job in his first year with the team. He also talked about the how the baby Lakers have had nice runs on their teams, and the fact that people still mention the Lakers trading those young players was potentially a mistake, but how the Lakers couldn’t financially keep them all.
The guys also had another discussion about Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, and the fact that many Laker legends are not a fan of this show at all. Jerry West’s attorney wants an apology and retraction issued to The Logo.
Pearson and Camello continued NBA playoff talk and discussed the injuries that have been most concerning for the teams. They also talked about the drama between Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics fans and was the $50,000 fine from Irving toward the raucous Celtics crowd justified or not.
