On this week’s episode of The Outlet Forum, Chaez Pearson and Chris Camello discussed a few topics. This past Monday, the new Los Angeles Lakers Hulu documentary series Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers released its first two episodes. Camello mentions the Lakers are the gift that keeps on giving, because year around we’re getting anything and everything Lakers, whether it’s good or bad.

The documentary is barely at the start of the “Showtime” era, so it’ll be fun to see how they tackle everything else that has happened since then. We learn that Dr. Buss really wanted his four children to learn first hand instead of having things straight up given to them. Camello mentions narrative control, and the fact that a lot more athletes and people are trying to tell their stories their way.

The upcoming NBA season schedule hasn’t been fully released yet (it will on Wednesday), but the media has been releasing a few leaks. The legendary, late great Nipsey Hussle also got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and would’ve celebrated his 37th birthday this week.

Lakers Nation podcaster and reporter Trevor Lane joined the guys to talk about the Lakers and the upcoming NBA season.

The WNBA playoffs are upon us with the Chicago Sky and Las Vegas Aces seemingly on a collision course to face each other in the finals. There are a lot of intriguing matchups with the Seattle Storm potentially coming in hot to send off Sue Bird in championship style. The legendary Sylvia Fowles played her last WNBA game. She changed the game forever, and made the center position what it is in the WNBA now. She now wants to be a mortician.

Other highlights from this weeks pod includes:

-2:48-4:00: Pearson thinks the Buss kids will own the Lakers forever because of the morals and values we see in the documentary.

-7:25-7:35: Pearson mentions Jerry West basically confirming he’s an emotional guy.

-8:34-9:00: What would you say were the underlying themes of the documentary so far?

-11:53-12:20: The Lakers are opening up next season on the road against last season’s champions the Golden State Warriors.

-12:22-15:37: What are some of the standouts from the leaked matchups for the upcoming NBA season?

-21:02-33:45: Trevor Lane joined the guys to talk about the Lakers and the upcoming NBA season.

-34:40-36:34: WNBA playoffs are starting soon. Who is the team to keep an eye on? What are the most interesting matchups?

-38:55-42:14: Sylvia Fowles played her last season. One of the all-time great centers. She wants to be a mortician now that she’s retired. Is it a weird job to have for an athlete after retirement?
