On this week’s episode of The Outlet Forum, Chaez Pearson and Chris Camello discussed a few topics ranging from the Lakers first preseason game to Ben Simmons. The guys started with the first preseason game of the new year for the Los Angeles Lakers. We saw LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook together on the floor for the first time in quite some time. There were some positives to take away even though they lost the game.
Camello mentioned that Cole Swider showed he can space the floor with his shooting. Davis looked really engaged and ready to go. Wenyen Gabriel was also a nice bright spot for the team. The ‘Big 3’ looked like they belonged together. We also got Kendrick Nunn starting!
A story dropped from The Athletic, and it talked about the Lakers being close to pulling the trigger on a trade with the Indiana Pacers to acquire Myles Turner and Buddy Hield.
The Los Angeles Clippers are at full strength with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George back from injuries. Will the Clippers be the team that comes out the West?
Ben Simmons is back! He’s healthy and ready to go and made his debut in the preseason. Will he be able to get back to his All-Star form? Can he make a huge impact for this Nets team? Camello mentioned that Simmons doesn’t need to be the guy for this team. Will Steve Nash keep his coaching job this season?
There’s a new NBA GM survey that came out that has the Milwaukee Bucks to make it out of the East and win the championship. Can the Bucks get back to championship contention? Camello thinks it’s a safe pick. The team knows exactly who they are and know how to win. The GMs think Luka Dončić will win MVP this year.
