On this week’s episode of The Outlet Forum, Chaez Pearson and Chris Camello discussed a few topics ranging from Opening Night for the Los Angeles Lakers, and who the biggest sleeper teams in the NBA are this season. The guys started off with the Golden State Warriors ‘Ring Night’ win against the Lakers. The Lakers looked good to start, but they completely lost themselves in the second half.
Camello isn’t panicking quite yet, but he did feel like this team was basically similar to last season’s team. He thought the three’s they took looked forced. Pearson talked about ‘stat stuffing’ and the fact that it doesn’t make sense. The Boston Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers in their season opener with an impressive win. Camello thought this game should’ve been a statement win for the 76ers while Pearson still believes the 76ers will indeed make it to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Pearson thinks the New Orleans Pelicans are the sleeper team this season. In their opening game, they demolished the Brooklyn Nets. He mentioned Brandon Ingram’s excellent play.
Camello thinks the Washington Wizards could be another sleeper team this season, and could the Oklahoma City Thunder surprise people this season? Camello thinks that Kentavious Caldwell-Pope could make a big impact for the Denver Nuggets, and Collin Sexton will make a great impact for the Utah Jazz.
Pearson says Donovan Mitchell will make a big impact for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Malcolm Brogdon and Dejounte Murray are also two other players he thinks will make significant impacts for their respective teams. The guys ended the show talking about the upcoming Lakers/Clippers game and if the Lakers could get the win or not.
