On this week’s episode of The Outlet Forum, Chaez Pearson and Chris Camello discussed a few topics ranging from the Los Angeles Lakers starting the season 0-3 and the Portland Trail Blazers starting the season off hot at 4-0. The guys started off by talking about the winless start to the season for the Lakers and the drama-filled Russell Westbrook saga.
Camello emphasized the need for shooting on this team. Pearson wondered why the team continues to take shots they miss, that other teams are daring them to take. The guys also talked about the names being thrown out for potential trades the Lakers can do. Should the Lakers just ride out the season, as bad as it may be, to then have a better free agency in the off-season?
Camello and Pearson then talked about Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies doing their thing and playing really well. Camello talked about the next man up mentality the team has. The Ben Simmons experience for the Brooklyn Nets hasn’t been so great so far.
The guys then talked about the hot start the Trail Blazers have had. Anfernee Simons has been playing lights out and Jerami Grant has been a great addition to the team. Damian Lillard is healthy and playing at the level we are used to seeing him play. The New Orleans Pelicans have been one of the surprise teams playing extremely well. Also, the teams that should be tanking for Victor Wembanyama have actually been playing much better than we all thought they would, such as the Utah Jazz. The Oklahoma City Thunder even recently beat the Los Angeles Clippers. The Washington Wizards and San Antonio Spurs are also surprisingly playing great. Teams that we don’t expect to get wins have been coming out ready to go and winning games.
