ANAHEIM, CA — Disneyland Resort has officially launched Tiana’s Bayou Adventure just in time for the festive “Holidays at the Disneyland Resort” season, kicking off on November 15. The excitement surrounding this new water ride has drawn the attention of Disney fans and media alike during a special two-day preview event.
As guests enter the attraction area, they learn about Tiana’s kitchen, decked out with photos of her restaurant throughout the region, as guests wait to board the ride. The ride follows Tiana (voiced by Anika Noki Rose) and her alligator companion, Louis (voiced by Michael-Leon Wooley), along with Mama Odie (voiced by Jenifer Lewis) and Prince Naveen (voiced by Bruno Campos), on a quest to take riders through celebratory bayou scenes filled with music and adventure. Guests are treated to an astounding array of sounds from the Bayou courtesy of award-winning New Orleans musicians PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard.
This ride has multiple opportunities for guests to be soaked throughout the incredible adventure.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure invites guests, and Princess Tiana, inspired by chef Leah Chase, prepares for a considerable time at the Mardi Gras party in authentic New Orleans fashion.
Ironically, Leah Chase’s daughter, Stella Chase (the owner of Dookie Chase Restaurant), shared some critical historical information regarding the inspiration behind Tiana in the Disney film “The Princess and the Frog” and how the new attraction is designed.
“I’m here to celebrate the opening of the Tiana Bayou Adventure. And my mother was the inspiration for Princess Tiana, so what a wonderful celebration this is having here,” Stella Chase said. “We have the ride opening this weekend, we’re celebrating the holidays, and we’re just telling everyone to come down and enjoy Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!“
Chase also shared that the inspiration behind Tiana’s kitchen was her mother and award-winning chef, Leah Chase.
The ride is a journey filled with dynamic turns and festive excitement that welcomes guests to a vast 50-foot drop as you complete the bayou celebration.
The merch highlighting Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, can be found at the new Louis’ Critter Club retail shop, just a few feet from the attraction, allows anyone to experience the merch at any time, even outside the park.
As part of the Disney Festival of Holidays, which runs through January 6, Disneyland guests can also indulge in events daily, including the Christmas Fantasy Parade, the lighting of the “It’s a Small World” holiday display, and the Main Street, holiday tree lighting. The nightly fireworks display at Cinderella’s Castle is spectacular, as it is a must-see during the holiday season at Disneyland for everyone.
Special performances by Mariachi Alegría de Disneyland, alongside the Disney Viva Navidad! Street Party and the spectacular fireworks show that lights up the night sky.
