PARK CITY, UT — One of the most important places to attend, mingle and network is the 2024 MACRO Lodge at Sundance Film Festival. The lodge is returning to its original mission to advocate diversity and inclusion in the film industry. Hosted by MACRO Founder & CEO Charles D. King and Stacey Walker King, Chief Brand Officer, the event is in its seventh year as a spotlight on people of color in film. The Lodge created three-day panels, conversations and celebrity-infused activations January 19 through January 21.

This year marks MACRO’s second consecutive year as a sustaining sponsor of Sundance, where it continues its commitment to supporting diverse voices in cinema. Named models at the MACRO Lodge bash included David Alan Grier, Dominique Thorne, Jay Ellis, Normani and many more. These esteemed guests highlight the significance of representativity and inclusivity in media storytelling.

Many panels existed that included the many directors, casts and producers of films at Sundance. Between the light bites and drinks sponsored by Kettle One, this was truly an unforgettable, incredible experience.

The night went on with the much-anticipated Midnight MACRO, which is an exclusive, invitation-only party that has become one of the centerpieces of the Lodge’s programming. This annual bash brings a lively scene where creativity and community spirit reign beneath the Sundance sky and one of the best events at Sundance. Many attendees were producer/writer Lean Waithe, WNBA superstar Sue Bird and USA soccer legend Megan Rapinoe, Pedro Pascal, Datari Turner, Danyel Smith, Too $hort, and many more.

The 2024 MACRO Lodge at Sundance was another success, a sanctuary if you would for diverse stories and talent, continuing the legacy of using powerful storytelling and underrepresented voices to impact the film industry. MACRO’s presence at Sundance — on panels, parties and one-on-one — is an extension of its mission to effectuate change and showcase the importance of alternative voices in cinema.
