WNBA’s Rickea Jackson Wants Her Shot In The ‘Power’ Universe, While Eyeing ‘Raising Kanan’

LOS ANGELES — Setting aside the basketball talents for a moment, it appears we have discovered an emerging star with significant ambitions in acting – and a specific goal in sight! Recognizing none other than Los Angeles Sparks rising star Rickea Jackson, who recently revealed her deep-seated love for the gritty, complex world of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s Power universe, and she’s not just a casual viewer; she’s ready for her close-up.

When asked if she’d ever consider stepping into a Power series on the Starz network, Jackson’s response was an immediate, with a resounding “Oh yes.

Oh, I love power, and Raising. Kanan. I love all that type of stuff. Yes.” It’s clear this isn’t just a passing interest; she’s genuinely invested in the intricate web of crime, loyalty, and ambition that defines the franchise.

But where exactly does Jackson see herself fitting into this high-stakes world? Her answer was swift and decisive: “I would want to be with his mom’s crew” in Raising Kanan. For those who follow the series, that means aligning with none other than Raquel “Raq” Thomas, played with chilling brilliance by Patina Miller. And Jackson’s admiration for Raq runs deep.

I love Raq! She’s loyal, she’s a badass, and she’s a boss,” she explained. “I mean, I love her. She’s got to do what she’s got to do (for the family).”

It’s evident that Raq’s unwavering strength and dedication to her family, no matter the cost, truly resonates with Jackson. She sees Raq as the ultimate power player, and frankly, who wouldn’t want to be on her team?

While Raising Kanan holds a special place in her heart, Jackson explains what captivates her about the series.

The one I watch the most is, like, Raising Kanan“, however Jackson isn’t one to limit her options. When queried about joining Tommy and Diamond in Power IV: Force, she was quick to point out her open-mindedness.

I like Raising Kanan, but I like it all. Whatever the opportunity presents, I’m down to do it,” she stated, showcasing a versatile spirit that would serve any actor well.

The discussion subsequently became even more thrilling with the reference to Power: Origins, the eagerly awaited series scheduled for release in 2027, which will delve into the backgrounds of Ghost and Tommy and their relationship with Kanan. One could almost hear the cogs turning in Jackson’s mind as she contemplated the possibilities.

So it’s going to show you the gap between how Kanan grew up. And then how he recruited Tommy and Ghost, oh that’s fire!” she exclaimed, her excitement peaking at the prospect of having those opportunities in acting.

In a strategic maneuver likely to pique the interest, Rickea Jackson concluded her presentation with a straightforward, assured appeal to the show’s executive producer.

Shout out to you, 50 Cent. Put me in one of your shows.

Rickea Jackson isn’t just watching from the sidelines; she’s ready to jump into the Power universe, bringing her natural charisma and a clear understanding of what makes these characters tick. Whether it’s as a loyal soldier in Raq’s crew or a brand new character in Origins, her passion is undeniable. The ball, or rather, the script, is now in 50 Cent’s court.
