DALLAS, TX – Ohio State offensive lineman Carson Hinzman was named to the Jason Witten Man of the Year Watch List.
In addition to the Man of the Year Watch List, Hinzman was also named to the Rimington Watch List, Outland Watch List, and Lombardi Watch List before the season.
Hinzman has been a leader on the offensive line since becoming a starter during his sophomore season in 2023. He was a key part of the Buckeyes’ 2024 national championship. During his career, he has played in 40 games, making 37 career starts, and has totaled nearly 2,000 snaps, more than anyone else currently on the team.
Off the field, he has been a leader in the community, contributing to efforts including preparing meals for the homeless at a shelter, organizing and attending Nationwide Children’s visits at multiple locations, visiting patients at the James Cancer Hospital, holding game night at Ronald McDonald House non-profit, donating to Goodwill & local churches, reading children’s books to local area kids, participating in The Memorial Golf Children’s Event, attending “A Kid Again” at Columbus Zoo and Ohio Stadium. While being an advocate for the Ohio Beef Council, attending agriculture awareness events, speaking and volunteering at cattle shows, helping elderly farmers and connecting them with younger generations, donating turkeys to those in need on Thanksgiving, and volunteering to spend time with kids with autism and other disabilities.
Hinzman also co-founded the Grit & Grain Foundation with his father, Jon. The foundation will give kids from rural and blue-collar communities more opportunities to succeed.
