Aldis Hodge Conquers Cross Season 2 on Prime Video with A Twist
LOS ANGELES — Cross Season 2 on Prime Video has been upgraded to be more suspenseful and intriguing, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats while providing background on the regular characters and new anti-heroes followed throughout this season.
“We have one job… stress you, keep you guessing to the end,” star Aldis Hodge, who plays Alex Cross, told Nitecast Media. “This season is exciting and dynamic, and I’m proud that we address timely topics with decorum and respect.”
That timeliness is front and center. Season 2 confronts the brutal realities of child abuse and trafficking through the arc of Lance Durant (Matthew Lillard), a charismatic corporate owner. His literal and figurative skeletons set off a sprawling investigation. The series doesn’t treat the subject as a mere plot device. Hodge says the show works to humanize victims and provoke deeper questions.
“For the subject matter, we always seek to humanize those impacted,” Hodge explained. “We want to give people internal questions to live and grow with. I feel great about the season. But trust me, it’s a banger. You thought season one was something? You’re not ready.”

Season 2 amplifies action and focuses on anti-heroes, while giving regulars richer backstories and complicated motives. Viewers who saw the trailer and viral car sequence will recognize a show more confident in its set pieces and stakes. Hodge traces Alex Cross’s emotional arc throughout the seasons.
“Last season, we saw a man breaking apart who found some peace. Now, he lives in that peace—until his world breaks again. Then he moves differently this season”
This evolution—a more centered yet vulnerable Cross—drives the season’s tension. Early buzz has paid off as Prime Video has already renewed Cross for Season 3, reflecting confidence in the show’s mix of adrenaline and topical themes.
With Hodge anchoring both the action and heart, Cross Season 2 is more than a crime thriller, it’s a platform for urgent stories told through a hero who will stop at nothing for the truth. Season 2 is now streaming on Prime Video.
