This Week in Disney Magic: Bluey Live, D23 Deals, and Hannah Montana Reunion?
By Kristen Carr
ANAHEIM, CA — If your week consisted of —school drop-offs, work calls, and park-day planning—Disney still took center stage. This week offered something for your kids, something for your inner teenager, and a challenge to your ticket-buying reflexes.
Bluey Is Officially On Stage at Disneyland (And It’s Actually a Big Deal):
The new “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” A live, interactive show has taken over the Fantasyland Theatre at Disneyland, and it’s not just a simple character meet-and-greet. This is a full live show, with tons of interactive elements.
Disney has been slowly rebuilding its live entertainment. This is one of the clearest signals yet that they’re prioritizing younger families again in a meaningful way. They are doubling down on the major demand of Bluey family fans.

Credit to Disneyland Resort—this is a rare “everyone wins” experience. Kids are hooked, you get shade and rest, and it resets your day without losing magic.
It’s worth noting that this will quietly shift crowd patterns. When something this targeted launches, it pulls families to a single park area at once. Here, It’s A Small World, and the Toontown entrance are most impacted. Bluey’s park debut drew lines to the castle and buzzed online, but the excitement faded during the week. While a solid queue still formed before the Fantasyland Theatre space opened each day, it quickly dissipated afterward.

There are many limited-time treat offerings to help you play “keepy uppy.” However, mobile ordering was not available on most days. Standby orders were available at Troubadour Tavern, but there were also long waits, so plan ahead.
Come back next week for a full review of what’s worth it, and what’s not.

What to Watch: Hannah Montana Is Back (Emotionally, At Least)
Hannah Montana is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a special that feels equal parts throwback and emotional damage.
It’s nostalgic in a way that sneaks up on you. One minute it’s fun, the next you’re realizing how long ago this era actually was. All joking aside, the special was a quirky ride hosted by Alex Cooper and special guests along the way in a familiar living room.
Disney continues to lean into its streaming library as a place for both discovery and comfort, and this is a perfect example of that balance. You’ll find yourself absolutely telling your kids, “I watched this show, it’s kind of iconic,” and then end up way more invested than they are. No regrets. You’re still cool, I promise.
D23 Ticket Info Dropped, And Yes, You Need a Game Plan
Disney officially released ticketing details for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event (August 14–16 in Anaheim), and as expected, it’s a multi-tiered situation that rewards preparation.
Tiered ticket access begins March 31st, starting with select D23 Gold members (each member can purchase up to 6 tickets). Pricing ranges from $49 for a new offering of a day “afternoon entry” to premium packages exceeding $2,500 (yes, you read that right.)
D23 isn’t just a casual fan event; it’s where Disney sets the tone for what’s coming next across parks, films, and experiences. It provides a giant Comic-Con-like hub of activations and merchandise to cater to and gauge their audience. Between panels of exclusive, exciting announcements, show-only collectibles, and contests, this event sets the stage for how fans feel about and accept what’s coming next.
If you want to go (or are considering it), this is not casual. I repeat: you’ll need to set alarms, get tabs prepped and open, and dive in with ready-to-click energy (not to mention payment options).
The new afternoon-only ticket is one of the most interesting additions this year. For fans who don’t need to be first in line for every panel, this could be the smartest way to experience the event without fully committing your budget (or your sanity). As a budget friendly, gateway-like option for fans on the fence about the spend, this ticket is sure to sell fast.

The Disney x Baggu Drop Is Still Hanging On (And You’ll Actually Use It)
The Baggu x Disney collection is unlike most collab drops; it hasn’t completely disappeared yet.
Practical, lightweight, and designed for real life. This is not just a “park-only” statement accessory. It’s actually worth it.
As someone who is constantly carrying work-life needs, snacks, water bottles, random kid essentials, and at least one thing I didn’t plan for, this is the kind of merch that earns its place fast. And you can find pieces still in stock across many retail partners.
Insider Tip: This Is a Smart Way to Book a Disneyland Trip
Right now, there are some genuinely solid travel offers floating around, especially bundled hotel-and-ticket options that are making trips more accessible for families.
Timing matters. And this moment, before peak summer demand fully kicks in, is one of those quieter booking windows that can work in your favor.
If you’ve been saying, “We should plan a Disney trip,” this is the nudge you’ve been waiting for. Start looking now, even if you’re not fully ready to commit.
Disney Is in Its “Test and Tune” Era, And You Can Feel It
Between the new Bluey experience, more flexible event ticketing, and merch that aligns as an everyday staple, Disney is clearly experimenting with what resonates most with families right now.
And with Josh D’Amaro stepping in as CEO of The Walt Disney Company, someone who built much of his leadership perspective with Disneyland as his home base and was known for experiencing the parks like a guest, you can’t help but wonder how that hands-on mindset will shape what comes next.
Because these micro changes tend to signal bigger transitions down the line. And as someone who’s in the parks regularly, you can feel the difference when something starts working, and there’s something in the air that feels like the beginning of a shift.
Disney is balancing nostalgia, accessibility, and fan-first experiences in a way that feels more intentional this week. And as a mom, a fan, and someone who’s constantly navigating both worlds at once, I’ll take a week where it feels like they’re at least trying to meet us where we are.
